The Sky Opens Twice, at Minneapolis Institute of Arts

The Sky Opens Twice (2014) is a three-story, 8 channel sound installation commissioned by the Minneapolis Institute of Arts. The installation extends upwards through three vertical floors of the Target Rotunda designed by Michael Graves. It is exhibited with 6EQUJ5, a video installation by Jennifer Steinkamp.

The Sky Opens Twice was conceived as an "aural film" inspired by Interstellar Radio Messages (IRM's), space mythologies and exploration narratives.
